April, 2013

April was a nice month for us, weather-wise and activity-wise.  With basketball season finished we were in the thick of soccer season.  This year we added Johanna as a player.  She had a great time and was incredibly aggressive, not shying away from girls almost twice her height (and weight).  We enjoyed our boat ride with our friends the Van Vurens.  We boated, swam at the sand bar, fished, ate lunch, then swam at the pool after boating back.  The children had fun trying out the chalk art on the driveway.  My friend Mary from Texas came to visit the area and I drove up to see her in Venice and spend the afternoon at the beach.  Emma came with me.  April also saw us close to finishing out our school year.  One memorable event was when Johanna had a 24 hour EEG.  Here is a photo of her while she worked on school work. This was done to try to see what kind of seizure activity occurs during a typical day.  Nothing was found that was not already known.  We are still praying that God heals her as her seizures have increased and intensified since the Spring.
