David dribbling upcourt vs. Gunnery Road.
Charity (in pony tail) and Emmaline (feet in the key) playing defense against Cape Christian.
David at the free throw line vs. Sonshine.
The JV girls team. Charity is fifth from the left. Emmaline is in the front row, left of the girl holding the trophy. Our girls finished in second place at the Middle School tournament. Not bad for a team that won the tournament last year, but lost four of its starters.
Christiana playing against Sonshine.

The other main focus was the homegoing of Jonathan's Mom, Olive, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She had a stroke that caused her to lose most of her ability to function, and she died on February 16th. Jonathan and Beth flew up to Minneapolis, while Nathan, Hannah, Lydia, Audrey, and Katie drove up from Texas. They were to meet us in Minneapolis to pick us up. The weather did not cooperate, and that rendezvous was delayed about 24 hours. In the meantime, we were able to stay with some friends overnight, and enjoyed the fellowship at their home. The Texas crew picked us up at our friends' home, and we left for Fergus Falls (a 180 mile journey) around 10:00 P.M. This was the night before Jon's Mother's funeral. Nathan did all of the driving, and we arrived in Fergus Falls around 2:30 in the morning. We did get some sleep, and got to the funeral okay. Jonathan spoke there, and it was a great family time.
These are the grandchildren carrying the casket to the hearse outside the church. It was cold!
This is Mom and Dad's final resting place. |
On the way up to the funeral from Minneapolis, Nathan said, "I think it would be appropriate for us to have lefse to celebrate Grandma's life." I mentioned this in my message at the funeral the next morning. Well, two of my Mom's brothers and one of our cousins went to work right after the funeral, made lefse that afternoon, and delivered it to Steve and Lois' house where we were staying. What a blessing that was for us to receive that from them!
Nathan and Hannah's daughter, Audrey, was a hit during our time there. She was just five months, and, of course, everyone loves a baby, especially a baby that smiles a lot! Uncle Steve Undseth took a specific liking to her, carrying her around for quite some time, even playing the piano to her. The humorous part of it all was his saying to his one married son, Trevor, "No pressure, but I'd like to order one of these (meaning a grandchild). Maybe for Christmas?!"
